Just wandered around taking pics of poles around the neighborhood today. I thought to myself: each nail tells a different story about what was nailed there. If the nails could talk, you’d hear the stories of many things that people thought were important. Lost dog flyers, “Cash for Junk” and other things.

While walking the dog, I stumbled across many liquor bottles on the side of the road.

It seems people throw them out their windows thinking, “Oh, hey, if I get pulled over, I won’t get an open intoxicant ticket. Perhaps they throw the liquor bottles out their car windows in a stupor, with all their hate for society in the muscle it takes to throw the bottle.

New York City is a piece I worked over the last few weeks as part of a larger project featuring city names.

After doing many sketches and roughs, I then bring the project into Illustrator to vectorize the final piece. Sometimes, I might make a few changes in the vectorizing stage such as the leaves here.
