From a rooftop in tood ol’ Detroit, Michigan
I’ll never figure out how the television was placed on top of that pillar. Ropes?
Here is a gif lettering experiment from today. Although the letters aren’t exactly polished, I figured the idea would be appropriate for a study and idea of being loose.
Being imperfect when hand-drawing things adds a human touch to the piece of artwork. Looseness and little nuances made possibly by drawing letter by hand add character to the piece.
Some oldies of some places taken from my Flickr for a little update.
I decided to make some more blinky type today. I used a Prismacolor marker on regular printer paper to draw the type. I then scanned in the (almost) finished artwork to animate it in Photoshop Cs2.
Oh, and I’m sick today. Boo! :(
Here is some more hand-drawn (and digitally animated) blinky type for a mid-week update. I plan on doing a few more of these for a project.
Here is some experimental weekend type for Sunday that was lettered and animated. It reminds me of a blinking sign.
"But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?”
A Friday night type gif. I can’t get that song out of my head!
Feel more than welcome to share!
Here is an animated type experiment and practice in script lettering from the last few days. I drew the basic parts of the letterforms in pen first, then scanned it in and traced it in Illustrator (which, I admit, is something I haven’t fully mastered).
Finally, a blinking animated effect is finished off in Photoshop.
Practicing lettering is something I really enjoy!
Some drawn type from tonight.
